Country Lovers

By the look in your eyes,
I could tell you were restless,
and so within the hour,
I would be vest-less.

We got on our bikes
and went for a ride;
just to prove to ourselves
we were young and alive.

After an hour of cycling
we just had to stop;
and made love to each other
in a field of some unknown crop

Chorus: And as we wait for this almost perfect moment to end,
I turn to you, my special friend,
and ask you:
“When will we be country lovers again?”

By the tone of your voice,
we needed to talk;
so we made for the country,
and went for a walk.

In a pub, by a canal,
we found our couple time;
me on the strawberry beer,
you on white wine.

By the light of the moon,
I made you my pledge;
then we made love to each other,
on the lock gate by the water’s edge.

Chorus
